From Questions to Itineraries
This week, I’ve created wireframes for my AI-powered travel planner. The system begins by asking 5–6 key questions about destination, dates, travel type, budget, and pace to generate a personalised itinerary. Users can then refine this plan using a conversational chat feature, making the experience more interactive and tailored.
Visual Planning on Desktop
I chose to design for desktop, as many users prefer larger screens when planning trips and especially when switching between tabs for bookings or research. An interactive map is also included, helping users visualise their route and understand the flow of their travel plan.

Next Steps: XAI Integration
These wireframes were created in Miro, and I’ll now begin developing high-fidelity designs in Figma. My focus will be on embedding explainable AI (XAI) strategies, not evaluating the quality of travel plans, but exploring how users understand and trust the AI’s suggestions. Since full AI integration isn’t feasible, I’m using pre-generated itineraries based on the combination of asnwered questions to simulate realistic interactions for testing.
